who we are
I’m Willow, a South Hampstead High School alumna and a 4th-year Psychology student at the University of Edinburgh. I founded theprepped with the goal of giving students the support they need to excel in their studies while also while also understanding and addressing the challenges they may face along the way.
Private tutoring isn’t a new concept, but theprepped was created to improve it. What sets theprepped apart is our commitment to making tutoring more relatable and personalised. As both a student and tutor, I realised that traditional tutoring often lacks the personal connection that helps students truly thrive. Today’s students don’t just need someone who knows subject material and syllabuses—they need someone who understands the academic pressure they’re under because they’ve experienced it themselves.
theprepped is built on this idea. Our team is made up of high-achieving university students and recent graduates who have recently been through the academic journey themselves. This shared experience allows our tutors to not only teach but to mentor and guide students through the ups and downs of school life. We understand what it’s like to balance exams, coursework, and extracurriculars, which helps us create a deeper connection with our students.
Our goal goes beyond helping students achieve top grades. We aim to build their confidence, inspire, and equip them with skills they can use long after they leave the classroom. In addition to subject-specific tutoring, theprepped offers help with personal statements, UCAS applications, Oxbridge prep, EPQs, and more. For A-level students, we also provide guidance on transitioning from school to university, drawing from our own recent experiences.
If this sounds like the kind of meaningful support you’re looking for, we’d love to connect with you. Reach out via email/phone or through the inquiry form on our website. We are here to help!
